The life of a St. Andrew woman ended brutally, this morning,
following a vicious fight with her common-law husband.
The body of 48-year-old Doreen Headlam of Gordon Town was found
on the compound of the Wallenford Coffee Factory, with multiple stab wounds.
Police are now hunting for the prime suspect, identified as
Junior Hyatt, in connection with the murder.
Hyatt, who is also called 'Burro', is a deportee.
According to reports, Hyatt, who was overseas for some time, had
been sending remittances to Ms. Headlam to construct a house.
It's reported that Ms. Headlam took a photograph of another
house to convince Hyatt that the house had been built.
On returning to the community after being deported three months
ago, Hyatt discovered that no house had been constructed.
This morning, Ms. Headlam was reportedly walking along the Mount
Lebanon main road, when she got involved in a brutal altercation with Hyatt.
He reportedly slashed her throat, also inflicting multiple stab
wounds, then fled the scene.
Police are asking anyone with information on the whereabouts of
Junior Hyatt to contact the Constant Spring Police.
